This comes stock with the iPhone 3G, phone charges really fast. The only reason I docked a star is the prongs don’t fold down.

    A few things to note:

    1) Why is this $35 on Amazon, and only $30 from Apple? More so, why is a freaking power adapter $30!!! Part of the answer might be…

    2) Beware of after-market (used/ebay/etc) power adapters. There was a recall on these back in September. The new (replacement) ones have a small green dot on the side with the prongs. You can’t just buy a cheapo off ebay and take it in for an exchange, because Apple requires the serial # from the phone.

    3) Older dock chargers and wall warts don’t work on the iPhone 3G (they changed the pin config around for the iPhone 3G) but I used my older iPOD USB cables and this wall wart adapter and the phone charged just fine.

I didn’t realize it when I purchased this, but this item includes the Apple iPod Dock Connector to USB Cable with it.

    Fake all the way.
When I bought it, I had my suspicions on its authenticity. $4, though, it was worth a try. It froze up my iPod (itouch 2nd gen.

Looks good, nice idea poor execution
It should have been a home run. The packaging was first rate. The fold up prongs were great for carrying around in a pocket.

I have read horror stories about using a non-Apple USB power adapter with iPods, so I was very happy to find this Apple adapter on Amazon. I am using it with my 2nd gen Nano. It works great and it even came with a USB cord.

    cord no good
The USB cord that came with the adaptor did not work, I had to use the USB cord that came with my i-pod originally.

    Cable not included
    From the listing:
What’s in the Box: Apple USB Power Adapter, Apple Dock Connector to USB Cable
Guess what wasn’t in the box?! the cable.

    Not the real thing
The charger I received, while it works perfectly, does not match the product description. It does not have retractable prongs or a “charging” light, and is clearly a knockoff…

Proper charging adapter, no cable, smudges – doesn’t seem new
I got the product that was advertised – an Apple USB Power Adapter. No cable, but there wasn’t one listed in the product description so I wasn’t really expecting one.

No cable, Not as Pictured, No green dot
This adapter, contrary to its description DID NOT come with an adapter cable. The adapter shipped to me DOES NOT have the correct green light dot, as pictured in the description

    Might be a knockoff
Just ordered two of these. They seem to work, though they get a bit warm when plugged in.
They look very similar to the one that came with my iPhone 3GS.

    Apple USB Power Adapter
The device works properly. The shipping was a problem. It took 4 weeks to arrive. It was supposed to be here before the end of May, but didn’t arrive until June 9.
